PhotobucketDID YOU KNOW...

1. Approximately 2 million children in Uganda have been orphaned by civil war and the AIDS epidemic.
2. Half of the population of Uganda is under the age of 15.
3. 8,000 people die everyday because of AIDS-related illnesses - more than 6,000 of those live in Africa.
4. AIDS is now the biggest single cause of death among children under the age of five.

As you know last year I had the great privilege of going to Africa to help build a home for orphaned kids. We teamed up with an organization called Watoto. The Watoto Organization  rescues abandoned, abused, malnourished, babies and provides them with housing, clothing, food , clean water, medical attention and education.  They house them at one of the 3 Watoto Villages.  Along with 7 other kids they are placed in a home with a widowed mother who raises them until the age of 18.

This Christmas a team of us are going back to Africa to throw a HUGE Christmas party for over 2,000 orphaned children. Our goal is to raise $100,000 dollars in order to provide each child with food, gifts and a Christmas Party they will never forget.  We will be doing this party in Uganda where most of the children are orphaned by HIV/AIDS pandemic.

I was forever changed after coming back last year and seeing kids without food, clothing, clean water, and barely a roof over their head.  We have so much to be grateful for.  The one thing the people of the village kept saying to us was “Please don’t forget about us”.   They look to us for Hope.  Maybe I can’t save all the kids (though I will try) but I can give them a Christmas they will never forget.

Think back when you were a child and how exciting it was for Christmas day to come.  Toys, great food, music, and being around those you love.  Every year you got to experience that.  DO you remember how special it was?

These children have NEVER had that experience.  They don't get to open gifts and eat good food.  They are over there merely trying to survive.

Will you please help me in giving these kids a day that every child deserves filled with love, joy, happiness and a memory that they will remember forever.  Give of yourself.  Give that special experience to a child in need.

Please donate to the cause.  Give whatever is in your heart to give.  No amount is to small and no amount is to large......

One love and God Bless
